After an amazing few days in Mallorca earlier in the summer, you might think I’d have had my fill of Spanish island sunshine – but you’d be wrong! I am a total summer baby and always keen to add to my Vitamin D total. Plus a few days in Ibiza, the party island of the Balearics, promised to be somewhat of a contrast to our quiet villa and pool days in Mallorca.
In early September a group of us made our way to Ibiza. First on our agenda was a party boat cruise to get us relaxed and in the spirit! While I wouldn’t recommend the cruise company, it was great to let loose with my friends, some of whom I hadn’t seen in months, and enjoy the novel experience.
Water activities fun while on the cruise
That night the party fun continued, as we headed to the famous Amnesia to see “noted” DJ Paris Hilton. She was also a novel experience – far from the world’s best DJ but the music in the club was seriously fun and it was a very fun night!
Yep, she “sang”
The next day we designated a slow villa day, as most of us were not keen to leap out of bed bright and early! Our villa was quite close to the main town of Ibiza – we’d chosen it as it meant we could easily catch taxis to the venues, and it had a lovely pool and space for us all to hang out.
We did drag ourselves off the loungers to head to view the stunning sunset at Cala Comte. It was busy with people wielding everything from selfie sticks to bongos, but was worth the journey to witness the gorgeous colours as the sun sank lower.
Our crew looking a bit more polished than on the party boat!
Our next day was again spent sunning ourselves, although I also had a lot of fun playing with my Go Pro as I leapt into the pool.
That night was time for another party session, as we headed to another well-known club, Ushuaia. Unlike some of the others, they have an afternoon party that goes into the evening – perfect for us non-veteran clubbers! There was a wide variety of DJs and rapper Tinie Tempah, which made for another very fun night.
I’m not a regular clubber but I did really enjoy our few days in Ibiza. The beauty of the island surprised me, and I think it would be fun to return and see a bit more of it – as well as the clubs!
Have you been to Ibiza? What did you think?
