August was a pretty classic month of winter hibernation for me, although I did take an amazing girls’ trip away to the Coromandel too. It was one of the rainiest months on record, which was excellent for my blog writing at least. And we had plenty of time to start plotting summer adventures! Here’s what I did manage to get up to…
Escaped to The Lost Spring on our girls’ weekend away in Coromandel – magic hot pools in a tropical atmosphere
Oh, and delicious cocktails!
Spotted: classic NZ
Rugby with the dads at Eden Park – happy Fathers’ Day to all the dads out there!
The All Blacks absolutely thrashed Australia 36 – 0… such an epic game!
Really mixing it up with a weekend walk on Milford beach (two along from Takapuna…)
I see you Spring!!!
Guys I wrote posts this month! It was exciting to start transitioning to sharing my New Zealand adventures (and those taken from an NZ base). I’m still figuring out exactly what the blog is going to look like, but basically it’ll be along the lines of a local’s look at New Zealand because, let’s face it – that’s what this is! This month I wrote:
- Expat to Repat: One Year Home – can you believe I’ve already been home in New Zealand a year?! Time really does fly…
- 4 Awesome Days Cycling the Otago Central Rail Trail – such a fun adventure to kick off my time back in New Zealand, I loved the stunning South Island scenery and huge amount of laughs had!
- A Locals’ Weekend in Sydney: because of course I couldn’t resist jetting off too. Sydney is the home of family, a super fun city, and also (just about) achievable to visit in a weekend from New Zealand!
September will see me on a flying visit to Wellington, and hopefully getting out to make the most of the spring sunshine. What adventures do you have planned?
