A sunny Saturday evening in London, and no plans til late… A sad state of affairs! Instead of crying into our rosé, Stacey and I decided to go on a sunset party boat river cruise – because why not!?
We got cheap tickets on Y Plan and turned up at Embankment Wharf all dressed up.
After a bit of an organisational shambles (no signs, late boat, no way of scanning electronic tickets) we headed down the Thames to some sweet house music.
First up was a great view of the London Eye, and then St Paul’s and the Millennium Bridge.
As the sun began to properly set, the lights of London appeared. Tudor and Stuart history has a particular appeal to me (as to many) and so I was quite excited to see the entrance to Traitor’s Gate from the river. It must have been a truly awful feeling being rowed up to there and knowing you were unlikely to come out again.
The river cruise was a great way to see a different side of London, and it was beautiful with all the lights at night. Plus, it turned out to be a pretty good party, so it was a success all round!
