Spring 2021 in Auckland meant… yes, another lockdown for the city. We had another five weeks in strict lockdown, which is apparently amongst the toughest in the world. Not much fun! Fortunately we were living in our new house and able to get out to exercise, and slowly things opened up so that we could get out, see friends, and even start the adventures again.

Adventures were more in quality than quantity in Winter 2021. This was thanks first to saving our leave in the continuing hope that we would get to Sydney at some point to see family. Then Auckland got locked down again, and it ended up being the longest, toughest one in NZ. But there was still some fun, and the big adventure of buying a house!

Writing from another level 4 lockdown, I’m glad I made the most of autumn. From a delayed, but still awesome Splore, to beach walks and footy in the sun, it was a great few months. The highlight might have to be Easter in the Marlborough Sounds at Kate’s family bach, in a spot that could not be beaten.
