Burger & Lobster is an incredibly popular small chain of restaurants in London. They keep it simple – you pay £20 for either a burger, a lobster, or a lobster roll. This results in either a pretty expensive burger or a pretty cheap lobster… so thank you to all the people who order burgers. I may never understand you, especially given the multitude of burger places in London, but I salute you.
I visited the Farringdon branch with a few friends from work to celebrate our contract being extended. With that purpose in mind, it was only right that we started with champagne!
Cheers!
I loved the interior of the restaurant, set in what might have been an old stables or mews. The bricks, wooden beams and warm lighting matched perfectly with the red booths to create a cosy atmosphere, perfect for catching up and chowing down.
Although on principle I wouldn’t order the burger, I didn’t fully step up and order the lobster either. Instead I went for the deliciousness that is the lobster roll. Stuffed full of juicy lobster and paired with crunchy fries and a yummy salad, it could well be the world’s best compromise.
Fortunately Jessie was more adventurous than me and thoroughly enjoyed her grilled half-lobster. Check out that plate of awesome!
Mmm… juicy, juicy lobster
Burger & Lobster also has an extensive cocktail menu which we couldn’t bypass. They were pretty reasonably priced and delicious as well!
I was happy to learn that Burger & Lobster kill their lobsters as humanely as possible with a Crustastun, rather than steaming them in the traditional manner. All in all, it was a fabulous evening and I’d thoroughly recommend getting along to one of their five locations – although beware that such is their popularity you may be waiting in line. It’s definitely worth it for that delicious goodness – and next time I’m going to step up and get that half-lobster!
