This month’s Travel Tuesday prompt is “Where You Came From” which works perfectly with March’s snapshots – they are mostly from my amazing holiday back home in New Zealand! I’m always proud to have come from my little country on the edge of the map. It is well-known for its amazing natural features, but what I really love are the people. I was struck by the welcoming smiles, the genuine little chats with shop workers, the pleasantries. It was so great to be back where my accent is just the way people talk, everyone says awesome, and life felt just that little bit more relaxed. Of course, I had mixed feelings about visiting home, as I’m sure all expats do. But on balance, I had a fantastic time – and miss all my New Zealand family and friends so much again already!
Before I left London was already getting its fair share of beautiful spring mornings
Once home I got straight into relax mode – how beautiful is my parents’ backyard?!
A typically “busy” day at beautiful Wenderholm Beach, just north of Auckland
Stunning Muriwai Beach, with black sands and beautiful bush
A late celebration of my brother’s birthday with him, my sister, and a beer or five!
One of my favourite views of Auckland coming over the Harbour Bridge into the city
A gorgeous bloom at the Parnell Rose Gardens
How inviting are these steps down to Oneroa Beach on Waiheke Island?!
Sunset over Auckland City
Back in London I was happy to see the daffodils – spring is in full swing!
Of course I had to swing by my favourite building in London, glowing in the early morning sun
Ironically my most popular Instagram post this month wasn’t of NZ – but it was delicious
I spent a spooky but fascinating afternoon touring Highgate Cemetery – post coming soon!
I rounded off the month with a deliciously girly high tea (with bubbles!) at St James Sofitel – so fun!

Truly March was an epic month. And it’s all go in April – I’ve already been to Iceland! I also have lots of plans for London adventures, and maybe another brunch or three. What are you looking forward to in April?
